Use What You Love
We chose Kona solids for our sample but feel free to choose any fabrics you wish:
- Solids or prints
- Scraps from previous projects

Fat quarters, yardage, or a mix
Planning Your Fabric Approach
You can join this Block of the Month in whatever way suits you best:
- One block at a time: Use scraps or your stash each month.
- All at once: Purchase your fabrics in one go for a cohesive design.
- A mix of both: Start with a background and build as you go.
There’s no right or wrong way, just choose the approach that keeps you inspired.
Choosing the Right Background Fabric
Your background fabric will tie the entire quilt together.
Tips for success:
- Pick a background that contrasts well with your future fabrics.
- Avoid fabrics that are too busy or similar in value to your block fabrics.
- Consider how light vs. dark backgrounds will change the overall feel.
A strong contrast ensures that each block stands out and the pattern remains clear and visually striking.
